Terms & Conditions of Trading

Selle Commercial Framework • Effective June 2026

Important Notice: By submitting a device trade-in request on selle.co.uk, you agree to these terms. Selle does not enter a binding agreement to purchase your device until it has successfully passed our physical Quality Assessment checks.

1. The Contract & Governing Law

1.1 These Terms and Conditions govern the commercial relationship between Selle ("we", "our", "us") and the customer ("you", "your").

1.2 This Contract is governed strictly by English law. Any dispute or claim arising out of this contract is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

1.3 You warrant that you are at least 18 years of age, a legal resident of the United Kingdom, and hold absolute legal ownership of the device being traded. If you are acting on behalf of another party, you are deemed to be acting as their authorized agent for all legal purposes.

2. Quote Validity & Price Parameters

2.1 Any digital valuation provided on our website is valid for exactly 21 calendar days from the date your order transaction is submitted.

2.2 If the device is not handed over via local collection, dropped off, or received by our transit network within this 21-day window, the original valuation automatically expires. We reserve the right to offer a revised valuation under current market conditions.

3. Quality Assessment & Re-Valuations

3.1 Every device undergoes physical and technical inspection by our testing team to verify make, model, capacity, network carrier compatibility, battery health matrices, and hardware condition metrics.

3.2 If the device condition does not match your online description, we will issue an updated revised valuation via email.

3.3 The 7-Day Window: Following a revised valuation notification, you have exactly 7 calendar days to either click accept or reject. If rejected, the device will be returned to you. If you fail to respond within 7 calendar days, the new valuation price is automatically deemed accepted, and the system moves to payout.

4. Activation Locks & Account Links

4.1 We absolutely do not purchase devices locked to software accounts. This includes Apple iCloud, Samsung Account, Google Account, or individual cellular network carrier blockades.

4.2 If a device arrives with tracking features active (e.g., Find My), we will hold it for 14 days while notifying you. If the lock is not removed remotely within this timeframe, the item will be returned with zero payout, and an administrative shipping surcharge may apply.

5. Data Erasure & Storage Liability

5.1 You hold sole legal responsibility for executing data backups and conducting a full factory data wipe to clear photos, messages, login passwords, and payment tokens.

5.2 You must remove all SIM cards, external storage modules, or memory expansions before transaction handover. Any cards discovered during testing will be disposed of responsibly, and we hold zero liability for returning them.

5.3 Absolute Indemnity: Selle assumes zero liability for data exposure, privacy claims, or data loss regarding storage blocks left inside hardware handed over to our team.

6. Anti-Fraud & Stolen Property Protocols

6.1 Selle enforces strict asset protection guidelines. Every device received has its unique IMEI code or serial footprint scanned through the national CheckMEND database.

6.2 If a device is flagged as lost, blocked, or stolen, we are legally barred from processing payouts or returning the device. The device will be isolated, and customer registration records will be passed directly to law enforcement.

7. Local Collection & Home Drop-off Services

7.1 Local Collection: If you select our local collection tier, you must ensure an authorized individual is present at the designated Merseyside address on the agreed schedule. A receipt issued by our team upon physical collection acts purely as an intake voucher and does not constitute final purchase acceptance.

7.2 Home Drop-off Option: If you elect to drop off your device directly to our designated residential workspace endpoint, you must arrange a strict drop-off window in advance. Devices left on the premises outside scheduled hours or dropped without an authorized representative present are done so at your own absolute risk.

7.3 Selle accepts no liability for accidental damage or personal property loss claims occurring on our premises during an unauthorized drop-off attempt.

8. Remote Postal Services (Royal Mail Tracked Return)

8.1 Service Scope: Where you select our Tracked Postal QR Return option, the carriage service is limited strictly to transit routing fulfilled via Royal Mail parameters from a local Post Office endpoint.

8.2 Limitation of Liability: Once scanned and accepted by Post Office staff, transit insurance covers packages up to a maximum value of £150 per unique tracking number. Selle accepts zero liability for losses exceeding £150 or for consequential commercial losses arising from transit delays.

8.3 Packaging Compliance: You must secure your hardware inside an appropriate, structural shipping box conforming to weight limits. Selle accepts zero transit liability for items packed in standard jiffy bags or structurally compromised wrappers that suffer crush damage in transit.

8.4 Claims Processing: To initiate a transit loss claim, you must provide a valid, authentic physical Post Office Returns Receipt displaying your tracking log. Claims must be submitted in writing within 12 days of the initial scan date.

8.5 Dangerous Goods Prohibitions: You explicitly agree never to introduce prohibited materials or batteries exceeding 100Wh into our postal pipeline. Unauthorized dangerous items may be intercepted and destroyed by carriers under the Classification, Packaging and Labelling Regulations, and you will indemnify Selle against any arising penalties.

9. Financial Payout Systems

9.1 All payouts are processed as electronic BACS transfers directly into your designated UK bank account (cleared through our corporate banking framework with Lloyds Bank).

9.2 Payout processing routines launch on working days only. Standard verifications completed before 2:00 PM GMT clear within 24 hours. Items processed after 2:00 PM or during weekend windows clear on the following working day.

9.3 It is your sole responsibility to ensure account names, sort codes, and account numbers are entered completely and accurately. Selle assumes zero financial responsibility for assets permanently routed to incorrect destinations due to customer input errors.

10. General Legal Caveats & Force Majeure

10.1 Selle will not be held liable or responsible for performance drops or transit processing delays caused by conditions outside our reasonable control (Force Majeure), including national transport strikes, civil disruption, or banking grid outages.

10.2 If any clause or provision within these Terms is determined by a competent UK legal authority to be inapplicable or invalid, that specific phrase will be cleanly deleted, and all remaining clauses will continue to hold full legal validity.

10.3 We reserve the right to revise our Terms and Conditions frame from time to time to align with technology updates, statutory changes, or insurance risk parameters. You will be bound by the specific framework version active at the absolute moment your transaction order is logged.
